  • With a history spanning 1,800 years, Torikai Hachimangu is known for blessings for love, recovery from illness, victory, and protection. In 2022, after 205 years, Torikai Hachimangu Shrine underwent a complete reconstruction, bringing a fresh perspective to the traditional shrine image. The worship hall, which resembles ancient stone structures, is supported by massive stone pillars and has thatched walls, creating a unique blend of ancient and modern design. The chief priest emphasizes the shrine’s role as a public space that preserves cultural heritage, with the recent reconstruction focusing on returning to its roots.
  • Located in Fukuoka City, Torikai Hachimangu serves as a community hub, hosting events and embracing modern technology like the metaverse to connect with people, offering a vibrant space that invigorates the spirit.
  • Momiji Hachimangu Shrine, famous for its autumn foliage, is lively during the “Momiji Festival” in the fall, when the beautifully red-lacquered main hall is illuminated by colorful lights, and visitors enjoy food stalls and traditional performances. Normally, the shrine is a peaceful place for reflection.
  • Momiji Hachimangu is also connected to the Kuroda family, who revered it as their protector deity. The shrine has introduced AR Goshuin (shrine stamps) that bring to life the stories of the shrine’s deities through 3D visuals, offering a modern way to experience its blessings.
